Chevron Strengthens Commitment to Malaria Control in Africa

On World Malaria Day, Chevron emphasized its commitment to malaria control across Africa, particularly in Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, and Cameroon. The company collaborates with governments and health organizations, including the World Health Organization and the Global Fund, to strengthen health systems and improve malaria prevention and treatment.

According to the latest World Malaria Report, there were 282 million malaria cases in 2024, an increase of 9 million from 2023, with 610,000 malaria deaths reported. Chevron's initiatives include distributing long-lasting insecticide-treated mosquito nets, training health workers, and conducting health education programs.

The company supports the Bioko Island Malaria Elimin Project, which has been recognized for its public-private partnership model. Chevron's efforts aim to achieve the World Health Organization's 2030 malaria elimination targets and contribute to broader health resilience in the region.
