Atiku Abubakar Urges Tinubu to Tackle Hunger, Not Politics

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar responded to President Bola Tinubu's declaration of readiness to "wrestle" political opponents ahead of the 2027 general election. Atiku, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stated that Tinubu should concentrate on addressing Nigeria's critical issues, such as hunger, insecurity, unemployment, and economic hardship.

His comments were made in a statement on Wednesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, following Tinubu's remarks during a meeting with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria in Abuja. Atiku accused the administration of engaging in political rhetoric while many Nigerians suffer from worsening living conditions.

He urged Tinubu to "wrestle" with the realities facing citizens, including food insecurity and unemployment, rather than focusing on political opponents. Atiku asserted that the President's greatest challenge lies in his administration's performance record, emphasizing that Nigerians seek effective governance rather than political bravado.
