WRPC Contractors Demand Payment for 2024 Contracts

Contractors associated with the Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company Limited (WRPC) have expressed their grievances regarding non-payment for contracts executed since 2024. They claim that the failure to receive payments has led to significant financial strain, affecting their ability to manage personal and business obligations.

The contractors, represented by Mr. Piu Abolagha and Mr.

Felix Oyow, have warned that they may resort to peaceful protests to draw attention to their plight. They have made formal appeals to Engr.

Bashir Bayo Ojulari, the Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited, and the WRPC management to release funds for outstanding debts. The contractors highlighted that the lack of payment has negatively impacted their ability to repay loans taken to execute the contracts, leading to threats of selling properties and difficulties in meeting family responsibilities, including children's school fees.

They emphasized that the situation has become unbearable and requires urgent attention.
