Junior Aruna Wins Medals at 2026 WTT Youth Contender

Junior Aruna, following in the footsteps of his legendary father Quadri Aruna, made a significant impact at the 2026 WTT Youth Contender held in Luxembourg. On April 9, 2026, he secured a bronze medal in the U13 singles category after a challenging journey that included a 3-0 loss to Italy's Mattia Somaini, followed by a thrilling 3-2 victory over Lorenzo Armani. He continued his success by defeating Poland's Antoni Zajac 3-0 in the round of 16, but his run ended in the semi-finals against France's rising star Sacha Douaran. Aruna also competed in the U11 category, where he advanced to the finals on April 11, defeating Luxembourg's Noah Wolter 3-2 in the semi-finals. He ultimately claimed a silver medal after a narrow loss to Bulgaria's Zhelyazkov. At just 10 years old, Junior Aruna's performances highlighted his talent and fighting spirit, guided by his mother and coach, Ganiat Aruna, and his sister, Mariam Amirah Aruna.
