South Africa's March and March Sets Immigration Deadline

March and March, an anti-immigration group in South Africa, announced a September 30 deadline for undocumented foreigners to exit the country. This announcement was made during a protest outside the Southern African Development Community (SADC) summit in Durban.

The protest, themed “It’s time to fetch your people,” called on African leaders to repatriate their undocumented citizens. Previously, on June 30, March and March had led nationwide protests demanding stricter immigration policies and warned of continued actions until their demands were met.

The group stated that the upcoming protest would be the “mother of all protests” and urged South Africans to assist law enforcement in identifying illegal foreigners. This protest coincides with ongoing discussions about the treatment of foreign nationals in South Africa, where President Cyril Ramaphosa condemned discrimination and violence against them, expressing shame over their mistreatment.

The June 30 protests had resulted in security operations and incidents of violence, highlighting the tensions surrounding immigration issues.
