Xi Jinping to Attend SCO Summit and Visit Kyrgyzstan, Egypt

From August 30 to September 3, 2026, Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and will also conduct state visits to Kyrgyzstan and Egypt at the invitation of President Sadyr Japarov and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, respectively. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian announced these plans, detailing Xi's agenda to strengthen relations with both countries.

In Kyrgyzstan, Xi will engage in discussions with Japarov on bilateral relations, cooperation in key areas, and regional issues, aiming to enhance the China-Kyrgyzstan partnership. The visit to Egypt marks Xi's first state visit in a decade, coinciding with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Egypt.

Lin emphasized the deepening political trust and fruitful cooperation between the two nations, highlighting the significance of Xi's discussions with El-Sisi on mutual interests and regional stability.
