Yari Pledges Northern Nigeria's Full Support for Tinubu's 2027 Bid

APC campaign chief Abdulaziz Yari says the North will back President Tinubu in 2027, citing govt achievements and farmer backing.

Abdulaziz Yari, who heads the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, pledged that the North will rally behind President Bola Tinubu's 2027 re-election efforts. He made this commitment while addressing supporters at the APC's campaign launch in Kaduna last Saturday, outlining plans to energize voters throughout the region.

The former Zamfara State governor anchored the campaign strategy on achievements accumulated during President Tinubu's three-year tenure. Key focus areas identified include infrastructure expansion, advances in health services, gains in the education sector, investments directed toward human resources and programmes delivering social support.

Yari explained that these accomplishments would form the backbone of what the campaign council seeks to communicate. Engagement with traditional authorities, religious scholars and other grassroots figures features prominently in their mobilization approach.

Yari also disclosed that roughly two million farmers have pledged their votes for Tinubu in the forthcoming contest. He seized the moment to condemn opposition factions, asserting they disseminate artificially generated content designed to deceive Nigerians regarding farm-related government initiatives.

Beyond this, Yari commended the performance of APC state governors in their voter mobilization work, emphasizing their indispensable role as partners across all territories. Reports from the Kaduna event indicate some variation in language when Yari described northern backing, with accounts citing either 100 percent or 101 percent support levels.

Both phrasings stem from the identical Saturday gathering. With these remarks, Yari signaled that Nigeria's governing party is moving into active campaign operations ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
