Nigerian Army Defeats ISWAP in Yobe, Recovers Arms

On May 8, 2026, the Nigerian Army recorded a significant victory against ISWAP terrorists in Buni Gari, Yobe State. Troops from the 27 Brigade Headquarters successfully repelled a large-scale assault, neutralizing no fewer than 50 terrorists.

The operation resulted in the recovery of a cache of arms, which included AK-47 rifles, GPMG, RPG launchers, and assorted ammunition. Additionally, air components conducted precise strikes to target fleeing insurgents.
