Yobe State Donates Sports Kits to Military Agencies

The Yobe State Government has donated sports kits to military and paramilitary agencies to promote physical fitness and strengthen civil security in the state. The presentation took place in Damaturu, where Alhaji Barma Shettima, the commissioner for youth, sports, and social development, emphasized the importance of encouraging healthy recreation among security personnel.

This initiative is part of the state's post-insurgency recovery efforts and aligns with Governor Mai Mala Buni's vision to build a healthy and secure society. The donated items included 18 football jerseys, two tracksuits, two footballs, and 12 pairs of football boots.

Ahmad, representing the beneficiaries from the Nigerian Army, expressed gratitude for the gesture, stating that the equipment would boost sports development within the security agencies. Comrade Ahmad Kagana Amshi, the North East Zonal Vice President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), commended the Yobe State Government for its sustained investment in sports development.
