Yobe State Upgrades Facilities for Hunter Groups

The Yobe State Government, under the leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni, has initiated a project to renovate and upgrade facilities for hunter groups in Damaturu, addressing a decade of neglect. The project, which was approved to enhance the operational capacity of these vigilant groups, aims to improve their collaboration with conventional security agencies in protecting lives and properties.

During an inspection of the facilities on Friday, Brigadier General Dahiru Abdulsalam (Retd), the special adviser to the governor on security matters, emphasized the necessity of providing decent accommodation for personnel. The renovated facilities will include a newly refurbished space with three buildings containing thirteen rooms and a modern conference hall that can accommodate 30 people.

Abdulsalam reiterated the state government's commitment to supporting families of security personnel who have lost their lives in the line of duty and stressed the importance of a coordinated approach to combat crime.
