Federal University Gashua Welcomes New Students at Matriculation

The Federal University Gashua held its 11th matriculation ceremony, marking a significant milestone for the institution and its new students. Vice Chancellor Professor Geidam described the event as a formal beginning of the academic journey for the students, who took a matriculation oath to uphold the university's standards.

This ceremony was particularly notable as it was the first under Professor Geidam's leadership since he assumed office as the 4th substantive Vice Chancellor. The university, established in February 2013, has expanded its academic offerings from two faculties and four programs to five faculties and 34 programs, alongside a postgraduate school.

Professor Geidam emphasized the university's commitment to preparing students for a rapidly changing world through ongoing reforms, including a digital transformation agenda. He also introduced the "Fuga Green Code," aimed at promoting environmental sustainability on campus.

The Vice Chancellor urged students to focus on their academic pursuits and adhere to the university's regulations, including a zero-tolerance policy for misconduct.
