Yoruba Community Disowns Unauthorized Tinubu Notice

The Yoruba Community 19 Northern States, represented by President General Afiz Adigun, has officially disowned a mobilization notice circulating among youth in Northern Nigeria that allegedly supports President Bola Tinubu's second term. The community described the document as unauthorized and misleading, warning the public against individuals making false claims on its behalf.

The disavowal was communicated in a statement issued on a Saturday, emphasizing that the community had already taken an official position to support Tinubu's candidacy for the 2027 presidential election. This decision was made during a congress attended by elder representatives across the Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where a unanimous adoption of Tinubu as their preferred candidate occurred.

The Yoruba Northern Network (YONNET) was established to coordinate support activities for Tinubu's political platform across the 19 Northern States and Abuja. The leadership urged members to disregard unauthorized communications and verify political information through official channels to avoid misinformation.
