ICPC Denies ADC Leaders Access to El-Rufai Amid Trials

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has formally denied leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) access to Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State. This decision follows a request from the ADC, which included Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Mallam Bolaji Abdulahi, and Mallam Salihu Lukman, to visit El-Rufai amid concerns regarding his treatment in custody.

The ICPC, through its chairman Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, explained that the request was denied due to El-Rufai's ongoing trials in two courts: the Kaduna State High Court and the Federal High Court in Kaduna. The ADC has expressed strong concerns about what they perceive as political persecution and intimidation against El-Rufai, urging that the situation be monitored closely by the public.
