“You neglected Niger Delta as minister, built rail to Niger Republic” – Ex-lawmaker blasts Amaechi

Former House of Representatives member, Hon Oghene Egoh, criticized ex-Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi for neglecting the Niger Delta region while focusing on building a railway to Niger Republic. Egoh accused Amaechi of prioritizing the foreign infrastructure project over the needs of the Niger Delta.

Amaechi had criticized a coastal road project, calling it fraudulent, and vowed to cancel it if elected president. Egoh, who recently defected to the Progressives Congress (APC), praised the coastal road project as transformational, boosting trade and economic growth.

He also commended President Bola Tinubu's policy decisions, such as the removal of fuel subsidy, despite the current economic challenges. Egoh's comments highlight the ongoing debate over infrastructure development and regional neglect in Nigeria.
