Ex-lawmaker, Egoh slams Amaechi over comment on Lagos–Calabar coastal road project

Former House of Representatives member, Hon Oghene Egoh, criticized former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, for his comments on the Lagos–Calabar coastal road project. Amaechi reportedly called the project fraudulent and stated it would be terminated if he were elected president.

Egoh, who defected to the Progressives Congress in 2024, called Amaechi's comments in bad taste and questioned his moral ground to condemn the project, noting his failure to deliver similar initiatives while in office. Egoh praised the coastal road project as a transformational initiative that would boost trade, strengthen relations, and drive economic growth in Lagos State.

He also commended President Bola Tinubu's bold policy decisions, such as the removal of fuel subsidy, which he believes will benefit the country despite current economic challenges.
