Young Son Of Boko Haram Founder Arrested In Chad

Abdrahman Mahamat Abdoulaye, the son of Boko Haram founder Mohammed Yusuf, was arrested in Chad for allegedly leading a jihadist cell. The Chadian security forces apprehended Abdoulaye along with five other suspected members of the group.

While Chadian authorities have not officially confirmed the arrest, sources have indicated that Abdoulaye, who is the youngest son of the late Boko Haram founder, was detained. The group is believed to be associated with the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), a splinter faction of Boko Haram.

Mohammed Yusuf, who established Boko Haram in Nigeria in the early 2000s, was killed in a military crackdown in 2009. The arrest of Yusuf's son highlights the ongoing security challenges posed by extremist groups in the Lake Chad region.
