Plateau Governor Vows Justice After Deadly Jos Attack

Following a heinous attack on innocent citizens in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area, which resulted in the deaths of 12 individuals, including 10 men and 2 women, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang expressed deep sorrow and vowed that the perpetrators would not go unpunished. In a statement made on Wednesday after visiting the affected community, Mutfwang assured families that their pain was shared and that the administration would relentlessly pursue justice.

He announced that the Plateau State Government would fully cover the medical bills for those injured in the attack and ensure that the deceased are given dignified burials. The governor emphasized the need for collaboration among traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community stakeholders to enhance security and address challenges collectively.

In response to the attack, the state government imposed a 48-hour curfew in Jos North Local Government Area, effective from midnight March 29 to April 1, 2026. This incident follows reports of at least 20 security operatives killed in an ambush by gunmen in Kanam Local Government Area.
