Nigerian Youth Council Condemns Borno Bombings

The Nigerian Youth Council (NYCN) issued a statement condemning the recent bombings in Borno, expressing deep condolences to the families of the victims affected by the tragic events. The council's chairman, Shehu, lamented the loss of lives and destruction of property, extending thoughts and prayers to the people of Maiduguri during this difficult time.

The NYCN acknowledged the prompt deployment of security personnel, including soldiers, to the affected areas as part of a broader strategy to prevent further attacks. They commended proactive measures taken, such as strengthening intelligence gathering and community-based security efforts.

However, the council criticized the government for not adequately addressing insecurity in Maiduguri and across the country. They strongly urged the government to intensify efforts and work continuously to ensure the safety of lives and property, emphasizing the need for coordinated action to tackle evolving security challenges.

The NYCN also called on Nigerian youth to remain calm, vigilant, and supportive of security agencies in their duties.
