Atiku Abubakar Critiques Tinubu's Economic Policies

Atiku Abubakar, the African Democratic Congress presidential candidate, condemned President Bola Tinubu’s government for losing the right to ask citizens for sacrifices after eliminating relief measures and failing to deliver real social support. In a statement released on Sunday through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku accused Tinubu's administration of executing one of the most cynical economic deceptions in Nigeria's history.

He pointed out that the removal of the fuel subsidy has severely impacted families, causing food prices and travel costs to rise while incomes have stagnated. Atiku criticized the government for not addressing the ongoing crisis in universities, as the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) continues to face issues like unpaid salaries and inadequate infrastructure.

He questioned the government's promises that savings from subsidy removals would enhance education, stating that families are struggling without any visible improvements in their daily lives.
