Zacch Adedeji Criticized for Economic Policy Defense

Zacch Adedeji, the Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, appeared on Channels Television's Sunday Politics to defend the economic policies of President Bola Tinubu. However, his performance raised concerns about his judgment, as he struggled to address basic governance principles.

Adedeji highlighted that President Tinubu walks to work and eats once a day as evidence of modest living, but his comments, particularly the question, “How much is an Escalade that the president of Nigeria cannot afford?” were seen as tone-deaf given the severe cost-of-living crisis in Nigeria. Many Nigerians continue to face hardships with food, fuel, and essentials despite some macroeconomic improvements.
