Zamfara Governor Joins Tinubu for UK State Visit 2026

Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal is set to join President Bola Tinubu on a historic state visit to the United Kingdom scheduled for March 18-19, 2026. This visit, as stated by the governor's spokesperson Sulaiman Bala Idri, aims to strengthen Nigeria-UK relations, particularly in immigration, trade, investment, and cultural exchange.

During the visit, President Tinubu, along with the First Lady and other members of the delegation, will be hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle. The Nigerian delegation will view a special exhibit of royal collections related to Nigeria and attend a state banquet in their honor.

High-level discussions are expected to take place between President Tinubu and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, culminating in the signing of memoranda of understanding concerning trade, investment, and cultural cooperation. Governor Lawal's participation is anticipated to provide networking opportunities that could significantly benefit Zamfara State's economy.
