Zamfara State Intensifies Fight Against Banditry After Tragedy

The Zamfara State government has reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying actions against banditry following the death of three police officers during an operation. The officers were reportedly killed by an improvised explosive device allegedly planted by bandits along the Anka-Bagega road in Anka Local Government Area.

During the funeral prayer for the deceased officers, Abubakar Nakwada, the Secretary to the State Government, described the incident as tragic and expressed condolences to the families of the victims. Nakwada emphasized that the tragic events would not deter the government's resolve to tackle insecurity in the state, stating that it would embolden their efforts.

He assured that the government would continue to support the families of the fallen officers and collaborate with security agencies to combat banditry across the state. The funeral prayer was conducted at the Nigeria Police Command Headquarters in Gusau, led by Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun.
