Zamfara State Launches Anti-Violent Crimes Police Unit

Zamfara State has launched a new anti-violent crimes police unit, a strategic initiative aimed at addressing the rising issues of violent crime and restoring public confidence in security. The inauguration was led by Ahmad Muhammad Bello, the Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, who commended the Inspector General of Police for establishing this unit.

Bello described the timing of this initiative as critical in the fight against violent crime. He praised the proactive leadership and operational strategies being implemented to enhance community safety.

The personnel assigned to this new unit have undergone specialized training to improve their professionalism while ensuring respect for human rights in accordance with the Nigeria Police Act of 2020. The Zamfara State Police Command has urged residents to cooperate with security agencies and report any suspicious activities, providing an emergency contact line for immediate communication.
