Zamfara to Release Inmates Jailed for Minor Offenses

The Zamfara State Government has announced plans to release inmates who are currently incarcerated for minor offenses and debts. Governor Lawal disclosed that this initiative aims to decongest correctional facilities and facilitate the release of inmates who have shown remorse and are nearing the completion of their jail terms.

The government is also committed to upgrading the Gusau Correctional Centre, which will include the establishment of a skill acquisition unit and improvements in water supply. NCO Moham Juta commended the governor's gesture, describing it as a moral booster for personnel and a step towards strengthening law and order in the state.

Additionally, the administration has previously refurbished operational vehicles for the Nigeria Immigration Service and constructed office accommodations for police personnel.
