Troops Neutralize Terrorist, Arrest Eight in Zamfara

On June 5 and June 6, 2026, troops from Operation Fansan Yamma, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, conducted military operations across Zamfara State. During a firefight in Birnin Tsaba, they neutralized a terrorist and recovered seven motorcycles.

The operation was part of a response to a terrorist attack on Anguwar Sarkin Musulmi Village in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area. Following reports of an ambush on civilian vehicles in Jabanda Dauran Village, troops secured the area and evacuated injured victims for medical treatment.

On June 6, they arrested eight suspects in Tudun Wada, recovering military items, mobile phones, and power banks. The operation also included intelligence-led actions that resulted in the arrest of suspects in Tupa Village, Shinkafi Local Government Area, who were believed to be in possession of intercepted ammunition.

The military reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing operations against terrorist bandits in the northwest and urged residents to provide credible information to security agencies.
