Troops Kill 2 Terrorists, Arrest 8 Suspects in Kaduna

On June 27-28, troops from the Joint Task Force conducted operations in Kaduna and Zamfara states, resulting in the killing of two terrorists and the arrest of eight suspects. Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja disclosed that troops encountered terrorists transporting a kidnapped victim on motorcycles in the Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, leading to a gun battle where the terrorists abandoned their motorcycles and fled.

The kidnapped victim was rescued alive, although another victim was found dead. Troops also responded to a terrorist attack in Dariya village, Giwa LGA, where three civilians were killed and others injured.

During the firefight, troops intercepted and killed two terrorists. In Zamfara State, two suspects were arrested in Magami, Gusau LGA, for allegedly providing medical support to terrorist groups, while six suspects were arrested in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.

The operations also led to the recovery of 110 rustled cattle, which were returned to their owner.
