Zamfara State Enhances Security with New Armoured Vehicles

On a recent occasion, Defence Minister Lawal commended the Governor of Zamfara State, Musa, for procuring 25 armoured personnel carriers and surveillance drones to bolster security operations in the state. The armoured vehicles are designed to enhance troop protection during deployments in high-risk areas, while the drones can cover a 50-kilometre radius for up to eight hours, supporting reconnaissance and intelligence operations.

Lawal emphasized the collaboration between the federal government and Zamfara State to tackle insecurity, highlighting the establishment of the Zamfara State Security Trust Fund to provide logistical support for security agencies. Additionally, the governor disclosed the earlier provision of 60 new Hilux vehicles and motorcycles for community protection, alongside the distribution of 150 Hilux vehicles to various security agencies.

The procurement also included 20 Toyota Buffalo vehicles and 600 specialized motorcycles to improve rapid response capabilities in difficult terrains. Lawal noted that these efforts demonstrate the governor's commitment to safeguarding lives and property in Zamfara.
