Zidane Turns Down Club Offers for France Coaching Role

Zinedine Zidane admitted during a press conference that he had declined various coaching job offers over the past five years, as he was focused on becoming the head coach of the France national team. This opportunity arose following Didier Deschamps' resignation from the position.

Zidane stated, “In the last four or five years, I had offers to join clubs, and I rejected them all for the France national team. This is the only job I wanted after my time at Real Madrid.” At 54 years old, Zidane expressed that coaching the national team was a natural progression in his career, especially as he anticipated Deschamps' contract with the French Football Federation (FFF) would not be renewed.

FFF President Philippe Diallo recalled a previous meeting with Zidane, where the coach confidently asserted, “I know how to win.” Zidane is renowned for his success with Real Madrid, where he won three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles and two Spanish league titles.
