Zverev Claims First Grand Slam Title at French Open

Alexander Zverev, the second seed, ended his wait for a Grand Slam title by winning the French Open, marking a significant achievement as he became the first German man to win a major tournament since Boris Becker's victory at the 1996 Australian Open. Zverev triumphed over Carlos Alcaraz in a five-set final with scores of 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, 6-7, 7-6, which lasted four hours and 16 minutes on Court Philippe Chatrier.

This victory is particularly special for Zverev, who had suffered an ankle injury that ended his 2022 season during a semifinal match against Rafael Nadal. The 2024 final was Zverev's fourth Grand Slam final appearance, following three previous losses.

Meanwhile, Matteo Arnaldi withdrew from the tournament due to illness, which affected the competition landscape.
