Uzbekistan Citizens Gain Visa-Free Access to UAE

The United Arab Emirates has announced that citizens of Uzbekistan can enter the UAE without a visa, provided they possess a biometric passport. This arrangement is based on a memorandum between the two countries and took effect on January 15, 2024.
Only holders of biometric passports, described as "International to travel abroad and Domestic to return to Uzbekistan only," qualify for this exemption; standard or non-biometric travel documents are not included. Additionally, UAE nationals benefit from this agreement, as those holding Special and Mission passports, along with ordinary passport holders whose documents are valid for at least six months, can now enter Uzbekistan without a visa.
Previously, UAE nationals were required to obtain an electronic visa before traveling to Uzbekistan. Under the new terms, they can stay in Uzbekistan for up to 30 days per visit.
