13-Year-Old Girl Survives Michigan Shooting Rampage

On Friday, a 13-year-old girl was the only survivor of a shooting rampage in Lake Township, Missaukee County, Michigan. She called 911 after being shot four times.
Police arrived around 11:40 a.m. and found three other victims dead at the scene. The suspected gunman, Chad Hickman, 39, is believed to have killed five people across three locations before being found dead next to one of the victims in a wooded area.
The girl was initially in critical condition but stabilized by Saturday. Lt. Ashley Miller of the Michigan State Police confirmed that the girl identified the shooter during her call.
While police have not released the names of all victims, a relative identified Amanda Everitt, 40, and her 16-year-old son, Eric, as two of the deceased. David Everitt, Amanda’s father, expressed grief over the loss and praised the girl as a hero for her actions during the incident.
