Delta Boy Dies from Suspected Dexamethasone Overdose

A 15-year-old boy identified as Simpli Gift died in Delta State after reportedly overdosing on dexamethasone, a drug allegedly given to him by his friend, Destini Akpofur, to help him gain weight. According to Bright Edaf from the Delta State Police Command, the boy ingested multiple tablets of the drug. After falling ill, he was taken to a medical facility but succumbed to complications. During the investigation, it was revealed that Gift had taken four tablets of the drug after being misled by Akpofur, who claimed it would help him eat and gain weight. The police are now pursuing legal action against Akpofur for drug abuse and the circumstances leading to Gift's death, emphasizing the dangers of drug misuse.
