150 University Projects to Get N20m Research Grant

The 2026 Grooming Centre University research grant will allocate N20m to approximately 150 innovative academic projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Chimfurumnaya Chukwuekem, Assistant Manager of Research and Development at CREM, announced the opening of applications in Lagos.
The grant scheme, which has been operational since 2019, will benefit 50 postgraduate and 100 undergraduate students this year. The application period is set from August 31 to October 23, 2026.
Eligible applicants must be final year undergraduate or postgraduate students at Nigerian tertiary institutions, with research proposals focusing on areas such as financial inclusion, microfinance, rural development, social enterprise, MSMEs, technological development, digital innovation in finance, youth development, and women empowerment, among others. Since its inception, the grant scheme has awarded prizes to 659 students.
