Two Suspects Remanded for Bridge Vandalism in Kano

Danlami Sulaiman, also known as Layayu, and Abdullahi Ibrahim, known as Maraki, were arraigned before Magistrate Abba Maiwada Abubakar in Kano on charges including conspiracy, theft, trespass, and unlawful entry. The prosecution alleged that on July 22, the suspects vandalized a bridge by demolishing part of the structure and removing rods and other materials.

Additionally, they were accused of encroaching on plots of land surrounding the area. The charges were formally read to the accused by court registrar Anas Zage, to which both suspects pleaded not guilty.

Following their pleas, Magistrate Abubakar ordered their remand in custody. The case has been adjourned for continuation of the hearing until September 8, 2026.
