20-Year-Old Arrested for Defiling Seven-Year-Old in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command arrested 20-year-old Isiyaku Usman for allegedly luring a seven-year-old girl into an uncompleted building, where he reportedly had unlawful sexual intercourse with her and robbed her of two Tecno A31 mobile phones. The incident took place on September 6, 2026, at approximately 8 a.m., while the girl was en route to a neighboring house.

Her father, a 37-year-old resident of Kari village in Darazo Local Government Area, lodged a complaint at 4:30 p.m. on the same day. Following the report, police detectives swiftly apprehended Usman, who was found in possession of the stolen phones.

Both the victim and the suspect were taken to Darazo General Hospital for medical examinations, and statements were recorded. Usman confessed to the crimes and is currently in detention while undergoing further preliminary investigation.

The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, condemned the act and directed the case to be transferred to the Gender Laboratory of the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough investigation before court proceedings.
