Datti Baba-Ahmed Calls INEC 'Criminal' Over Result Timing

Datti Baba-Ahmed, the former vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party, criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for announcing the results of the 2023 presidential election at 4 AM. During an interview, he labeled INEC as "criminal" for this decision, arguing that it undermines the credibility of the electoral process.

Baba-Ahmed questioned why Nigerians should accept the results when the INEC chairman had previously indicated that results would be announced at 9 AM. He expressed concerns over the integrity of the electoral process, particularly in light of President Bola Tinubu's victory, which he deemed inappropriate given the alleged flaws in the process.

Baba-Ahmed also referenced former South African President Thabo Mbeki, who had assured that the results would be announced at 9 AM, further emphasizing the controversy surrounding the timing of the announcement.
