Nigeria's Volleyball Team to Clash with Morocco in 2026 Quarter-Finals

Nigeria's men's volleyball team is set to compete against Morocco in the quarter-finals of the 2026 African Men’s Nations Volleyball Championship on Monday, September 21, 2026. Morocco secured their spot in the last eight by defeating the Democratic Republic of Congo 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 29-27) in the Round of 16 on Saturday, September 19.

Ryan Masajedi, the head coach of Nigeria's team, analyzed Morocco's performance and identified their weaknesses, expressing confidence that Nigeria could create an upset and advance to the semi-finals. He noted that Morocco has a systematic approach to the game and is consistent, despite trailing in points during their match against DR Congo.

Masajedi emphasized the importance of serving well, as he observed that Morocco struggles with reception. He stated that the coaching crew would develop a strategy to capitalize on these weaknesses, focusing on effective serves, solid blocks, good defense, and winning break points to enhance their chances of victory.
