Former Obidient Leader Marcel Ngogbehei Shifts Focus

Marcel Ngogbehei, the former leader and pioneer organiser of the Obidient Movement, declared he is no longer leading the movement in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja. He currently serves as the head of the Directorate of Mobilisation and Integration within the Labour Party.

Ngogbehei emphasized that his focus is on developing a mobilisation strategy as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections. He was recognized as an early organiser of the political movement supporting Peter Obi during the 2023 presidential election and was the pioneer founder of the Peter Obi Support Network (POSN).

Ngogbehei also chaired the first one-million-man march for Obi and was elected unopposed as the pioneer chairman of the Coalition for Peter Obi (CPO). During his tenure with the CPO, he led the organization to a leadership summit in Abuja and was part of the 2023 presidential campaign team under Labour Party leader Julius Abure.

His current role involves focusing on the Labour Party’s mobilisation architecture and integrating broader political strategies as the 2027 elections approach.
