SWAN President Benjamin Presents Three-Year Scorecard

Comrade Isaiah Kemje Benjamin, the National President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), is seeking re-election during the 2026 National Triennial Delegates Congress in Kaduna. Benjamin, a journalist with Leadership Newspapers, took office in 2023 amidst internal conflicts and disputes within the organization.

His administration's scorecard emphasizes efforts in reconciliation, chapter administration, membership management, and international partnerships. Key achievements include restoring stability in chapters affected by internal disagreements, notably in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where peaceful elections were facilitated.

The association now boasts over 30 recognized state chapters and an increase in membership. Additionally, Benjamin's administration has improved relations with international sporting organizations, including the Confederation of African Football (CAF), aiding Nigerian journalists in addressing logistical challenges during major competitions.

The congress serves as a platform for delegates to evaluate the current administration's accomplishments and challenges while electing new leadership.
