Early Voter Turnout in Osun Governorship Election

On Saturday, voters in Osun State demonstrated early turnout for the governorship election, with many arriving at polling units before electoral officials and materials. In Osogbo, voters were present at Gulf Junction, Ogo Oluwa Ward 4, Unit 2, as early as 7:13 am.

Similar early arrivals were noted in Iragbiji, Boripe Local Government Area, where voters queued by 7:15 am. The election features 15 political parties, with incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party seeking a second term against Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress.

Two candidates, Adesina Adeyemi-Doro of the All Progressives Grand Alliance and Simon Adewale of the Allied Peoples Movement, withdrew from the race but remain on the ballot. The Independent National Electoral Commission has deployed personnel and materials statewide, while security agencies are ensuring law and order during the election process.
