Early Voter Turnout in Ede for Osun Governorship Election

On Saturday, residents of Ede in Osun State participated in the ongoing governorship election, with many voters arriving at polling units as early as 6:30 a.m. Vehicles transported voters and youth corps members to various locations for the electoral process.

By 6:40 a.m., some voters were already at their polling units, waiting for officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to verify their names and ensure proper accreditation. Security personnel from the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were deployed across Ede North and Ede South Local Government Areas, adhering to a vehicular movement restriction order.

Local election observers were also present at some polling units. While some polling units had commenced accreditation, others were still waiting for INEC officials to post the names of eligible voters.

Notable polling units included Sagba Agbogunde Ward 2, unit 9, and Orita Alajue Ward 5, unit 1. Ede is the hometown of Ademola Adeleke, the governorship candidate of Accord.
