APC Chairmen Mobilize Support for Tinubu's 2027 Bid

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Progressive Local Government Chairmen’s Forum (PLGCF), consisting of around 685 elected local government chairmen from 31 All Progressives Congress (APC) controlled states, announced its commitment to lead a grassroots mobilization effort to ensure President Bola Ahmed Tinubu secures a second term. This declaration was made during a courtesy visit to APC national chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, at the party's national secretariat in Abuja.

Dr. Mustapha Mohammed Jibrin, the forum's chairman and chairman of Chanchaga local government area in Niger State, emphasized the importance of local council chairmen in connecting with the electorate and gathering community intelligence. He praised President Tinubu for his dedication to enhancing local government administration and autonomy, stating that empowered local governments facilitate the delivery of democratic benefits to citizens.

The forum has established a National Working Committee to coordinate mobilization efforts and plans to hold a formal endorsement rally during its upcoming national inauguration.
