Anosike Promises Judiciary Autonomy and Workers' Welfare

Dr Kelechi Anosike, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Abia State in the 2027 elections, committed to ensuring financial autonomy for the state judiciary and enhancing workers' welfare. He made this pledge while addressing over 495 lawyers at a dinner in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, during the Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association.

Anosike expressed concern over the four strikes in the Abia State judiciary within three years, stating that such disruptions negatively impact access to justice and the economy. He argued for predictable funding for the judiciary, asserting that once a budget is approved, funds should be released without executive discretion.

Anosike also outlined plans for timely salary payments, addressing pension and promotion issues, and protecting vulnerable citizens from economic hardship. He emphasized that the welfare of citizens is the government's primary responsibility and envisioned a future where Abians have confidence in their state's governance.
