INEC Releases Codes, Candidates Anxious for 2027 Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released access codes for political parties to upload candidate lists for the 2027 elections, causing anxiety among candidates. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that it has not released an official list of successful candidates from its recent primaries, urging the public to disregard unauthorized reports.

APC's National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, confirmed that the party's leadership will notify candidates through official channels. Meanwhile, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) is facing challenges in obtaining the access codes needed to upload its candidates' names due to a recent court judgment that directed INEC to deregister the party.

NDC's spokesperson indicated that they are taking legal steps to suspend the enforcement of the court's judgment while attempting to secure the necessary codes from INEC. The situation remains uncertain as the NDC's ability to participate in the upcoming elections hangs in the balance.
