APC Denies Forcing Peter Obi Out of Political Parties

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has refuted claims that it forced Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), out of the Labour Party and the African Democratic Congress (ADC). During an interview on ‘Politics Today’ on Channels Television, APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda stated that no member of the APC chased Obi out of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or the Labour Party, nor compelled him to join any other political platform.

Yilwatda pointed out that Obi had been changing political parties long before the APC came to power at the federal level. He also dismissed assertions that recent defections from the APC indicated a decline in support for the party, arguing that many politicians left in pursuit of electoral tickets rather than due to ideological differences.

Yilwatda asserted that the APC remains united and attractive to Nigerians, noting that one year into his tenure as national chairman, the party has fulfilled key promises to strengthen its internal structure and broaden its appeal.
