Court Adjourns Suit on Donald Duke's PRP Candidacy

The Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned a suit regarding Donald Duke's candidacy for the presidency under the People's Redemption Party (PRP) to June 29. The case, presided over by Justice Moham Umar, was brought by Dr. Yakubu Kingslei, who argues that Duke was not a registered member of the PRP as of May 4, when the party's membership registration was submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The suit seeks to void the results of the PRP presidential primaries held on May 25, where Duke was declared the winner on May 26. Kingslei claims that Duke's participation in the primaries was invalid due to his alleged failure to comply with the party's guidelines, which require aspirants to physically present themselves for screening.

The court has allowed for a short adjournment to enable the plaintiff's counsel, Abdullahi Muhammad, to file a motion for substituted service against Duke.
