PRP Names Donald Duke as Presidential Candidate for 2027

The People's Redemption Party (PRP) has officially cleared Donald Duke, the former governor of Cross River State, as its presidential candidate for the upcoming 2027 general elections. This clearance was confirmed by Muham Ishaq, who issued a statement from the party's national secretariat in Abuja.

The decision came after a thorough review by the party's National Working Committee (NWC) and the subsequent approval of the primary appeal committee's report. Alongside Duke, the PRP will field a total of 420 candidates across various electoral positions in the 2027 elections.

The NWC upheld the outcomes of four elections, including governorship, senatorial, and House of Representatives primaries, while nullifying the primary election for the Tarauni federal constituency in Kano. Ishaq expressed the party's commitment to principles of internal democracy and the delivery of credible, transformative leadership in the country.
