Oyo ADC Governorship Ticket Dispute Heads to Court

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is facing a dispute over its governorship ticket in Oyo State, with two factions arguing over the rightful candidate following parallel primaries. Barrister Niyi Aborisade, who has been selected as the running mate for the upcoming 2027 general election, announced that a High Court in Ibadan is currently reviewing the matter.

He expressed confidence that the court would adjudicate fairly and that the party would soon be on the ballot. Aborisade emphasized that the ADC's published list of candidates does not reflect the actual situation in Oyo State, asserting that Dr. Gbemileke Alagbe Eleniyan won the primary held on May 22, 2026, and has chosen him as deputy.

He criticized Oloye Taofeek Adegboyega Adegoke, who was named by the INEC as the candidate, for allegedly manipulating the system. Aborisade urged party members to remain calm as they prepare for their campaign ahead of the election.
