APC Governors' Forum Backs Tinubu Ahead of 2027 Elections

On September 15, 2026, the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), chaired by Hope Uzodimma, governor of Imo State, announced its firm opposition to any political arrangements that could jeopardize President Bola Tinubu's re-election campaign for the 2027 presidential election. This declaration follows concerns over potential rivalries involving key figures such as Nyesom Wike, the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, and Kwara State governor AbdulRazaq AbdulRahaman, particularly as Wike supports the PDP candidate in Imo State and Senator Saliu Mustapha in Kwara Central.

Uzodimma emphasized that the governors are committed to the APC's official campaign structure and will not endorse any alliances that could weaken the party's electoral prospects. He reiterated that the forum's electoral mandate is tied to candidates produced by the party, and all campaign efforts will align with President Tinubu's directives and the APC leadership.
