Ikechukwu Okei Urges PDP to Set Aside Egos for 2027 Elections

In a live interview on Tuesday, Ikechukwu Okei, a professor and strategist in human capital development, advised members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to "deflate their egos" in preparation for the 2027 general elections. His comments came in light of recent internal political strife, particularly following the Appeal Court's dismissal of a faction led by Taminu Turaki.

Okei stressed that for the PDP to be a strong opposition party against the All Progressives Congress (APC), members must prioritize unity and strategic engagement. He referenced former Senate President Bukola Saraki's suggestion to "bury the hatchet" and focus on three critical questions: the desire to participate in the elections, the strength of the opposition, and the mobilization of voters.

Okei highlighted the urgency of addressing these issues, especially as the Supreme Court's timeline for hearing related cases remains uncertain.
